With a view to contain further outbreak of COVID-19 more infectious variants found in UK, South Africa, Israel and elsewhere, the Government of Japan decided on 26 December to take the following measures.
The new entry into Japan of all foreigners (including Israelis) from Israel for short-term business stay, which has been granted from 1 October pursuant to “Israeli and other foreign nationals’ application for visa, immigration procedures and quarantine requirements for short-term business stay in Japan (2020/10/30)”, will be suspended from 28 December 2020, at 0:00 (midnight) in Tokyo local time until the end of January 2021. Those who have already obtained valid Japanese short-term business stay visa will nevertheless be admitted to Japan before 4 January 2021, at 0:00 (midnight) in Tokyo local time , under the condition that they have not stayed in UK or South Africa within 14 days prior to the application for landing on Japan.
