Musrara Mix welcomes Japanese talents

Workshop given by Mr. Kawaharada and Mr. Takenoshita

Musrara Mix, an annual festival of multidisciplinary art, was held from May 28 to 30 in Jerusalem.
Celebrating its 13th anniversary this year, the festival enjoyed eclectic participation of both domestic and international artists, including those from Japan. Takanori Kawaharada, an Israel-based performer and creator,
and Ryo Takenoshita from Yokohama, Japan, presented a duo dance peace inspired by Butoh, a distinctive style of choreography originated in Japan.
The performance continued three days, each time receiving warm plaudits from the audience.
The two dancers also conducted a subsequent workshop after the festival, exposing young Israeli artists
to the world of Butoh.
