Opening Ceremony of
"Double Vision: Contemporary Art from Japan"

On July 21, the exhibition "Double Vision: Contemporary Art from Japan" opened at Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art and Haifa Museum of Art.
Ambassador and Mrs. Sato attended to honor the opening ceremony, along with many other distinguished guests including the Hon. Yona Yahav, Mayor of Haifa, Mr. Jacob Shacham, Chairman, Board of Directors of Haifa Museums, Mr. Kenjiro Hosaka, Curator, the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, and the Japanese artists of great prominence in the world's art scene.

The exhibition, which is held in commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Israel, presents kaleidoscopic array of images from the real world and the imaginary world, showing how modern Japanese artists perceive their living milieu and transform what is most commonplace and prosaic in everyday life into art. Ambassador Sato in his remarks noted that the exhibition presents the largest collection of Japanese contemporary art ever displayed in Israel, expressing his gratitude to the Municipality of Haifa, the Haifa Museums and all others who took part in the joint endeavor for promoting cultural exchanges and friendship between the two countries.

The exhibition "Double Vision: Contemporary Art from Japan" continues until December 16:
