On the evening of December 11th, 2014, The Awarding Ceremony of the Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendations was held at the Japanese Ambassador's Residence. The Awardees of this year, which were announced in last August, were Dr. Ilana SINGER BLAINE, Chief Curator, Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art; and the Department of Asian Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Ambassador Matsutomi made congratulatory remarks appreciating the awardees' outstanding contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and Israel, and presented the certificates to Dr. Singer Blaine and to Dr. Nissim Otmazgin, Chair of the Department of Asian Studies of the Hebrew University. |

Recipient remarks were made by Dr. Singer Blaine, Prof. Menachem Ben Sasson, the President of the Hebrew University, and Dr. Nissim Otmazgin, Chair of the Department, followed by congratulatory comments by Prof. Ben Ami Shillony, professor emeritus of the Hebrew University. |
