On September 11th, Ambassador Shigeo Matsutomi presented to H.E. Mr. Reuven (Ruvi) Rivlin, President of the State of Israel, the Letter of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Israel, on the occasion of the ceremony held at the President's official residence.
During the conversation with H.E. President Rivlin, Ambassador Matsutomi exchanged opinions on furthering the relationship between the two countries. |

| Following the ceremony above, a reception "Vin d'honneur" was held together with the other new ambassadors of Georgia, the Republic of Lithuania, and the Kingdom of Swaziland (accredited from Kenya),who presented credentials at the same occasion. At the reception the ambassadors warmly welcomed guests from many circles of Israel. |
