Foreign Minister’s Commendations to the Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art

 

 

Ambassador Takeuchi hosted the awarding ceremony of Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendations to the Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art at his Residence on December 24th, 2009.  More than 80 guests including The Honorable Member of the Knesset Moshe Mutz Matalon and The Honorable Member of the Knesset Anastassia Michaeli celebrated the ceremony.  In his speech, Ambassador Takeuchi expressed his deep respect and appreciation to the Tikotin Museum for its longstanding contribution to the promotion of Japanese Arts and culture in Israel.  In return, Mr. Nissim Tal, Director-General of Haifa Museums, and Dr. Ilana Singer, Chief Curator of the Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art, expressed their appreciation to Ambassador Takeuchi for hosting the ceremony and hope for a further strengthened relationship between the museum and the Embassy.  The ceremony was concluded by the toast by Hon. M.K. Moshe Mutz Matalon.

 

The Tikotin Museum of Japanese Art is the only museum dedicated exclusively to the exhibition of Japanese art in the Middle East.  This year, the Tikotin Museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
