Japan’s contemporary diplomacy at the University of Haifa

Ambassador Takeuchi gave a lecture about Japan’s contemporary diplomacy at the University of Haifa on January 7, 2010. 

By introducing the preamble and the Article 9, which renounces war, of the Constitution of Japan, Ambassador explained that pacifism, settlement of disputes by peaceful means, and international cooperation are key elements of Japan’s contemporary diplomacy. 

About 60 students, mainly from the Department of Asian Studies, attended the lecture.
